Refund, Return & Warranty Policy
At Forntech, we aim to assist our customers fairly and efficiently. Please read this Refund, Return and Warranty Policy carefully before making a purchase.
Nothing in this policy limits any rights available to customers under applicable South African consumer law.
30-Day Return Policy
Customers may request a return within 30 days after receiving an item.
To qualify for a change-of-mind return, the item must be:
-
Unused and in its original condition
-
In its original packaging
-
Complete with all accessories, parts, manuals and tags
-
Accompanied by a receipt or valid proof of purchase
Items that are used, damaged, altered, incomplete or not returned in their original packaging may not qualify for a change-of-mind return.
This restriction does not apply where an item is defective, damaged upon delivery, incorrectly supplied or otherwise protected by applicable consumer law.
Online Order Cooling-Off Rights
Where applicable, customers purchasing online may cancel an eligible transaction within seven days after receiving the goods in accordance with the Electronic Communications and Transactions Act.
The customer may be responsible for the direct cost of returning goods under a change-of-mind or cooling-off return, except where the item is defective, damaged or incorrectly supplied.

Courier and Return Costs
Original delivery charges are generally non-refundable for change-of-mind returns.
Customers are normally responsible for return courier costs when returning an unwanted item or exercising a change-of-mind return.
Where an item is confirmed to be defective, damaged upon delivery or incorrectly supplied, Forntech will handle the matter in accordance with applicable consumer law and will advise the customer regarding collection, return or reasonable transport arrangements.
Customers should package returned products securely. We recommend using a tracked and adequately insured courier service.
Damaged, Defective or Incorrect Items
Please inspect your order as soon as it is delivered.
If an item arrives damaged, defective or different from what was ordered, contact us promptly at contact@forntechstore.com. Include your order number and clear photographs of:
-
The product
-
The packaging
-
The courier label
-
The visible damage or defect
Forntech will assess the matter and, where applicable, arrange an appropriate remedy in accordance with South African consumer law.
Solar Panel Deliveries
Solar panels are fragile and must be inspected immediately upon delivery.
If a solar panel arrives damaged, please record the damage on the courier’s delivery documentation where possible and contact Forntech immediately with photographs of the panel, packaging and courier label.
This notice does not exclude any rights that a customer may have where a panel is damaged before or during delivery.
Gel Batteries
Used gel batteries are not eligible for change-of-mind returns.
However, a defective gel battery may still qualify for assessment under the applicable manufacturer’s warranty and South African consumer law.
Warranty periods may vary depending on the brand and model. Any applicable warranty period will be stated on the product documentation or confirmed at the time of purchase.
Exceptions and Non-Returnable Items
Subject to applicable consumer law, the following items may not qualify for change-of-mind returns:
-
Custom-made, specially ordered or personalised products
-
Gift cards
-
Hazardous materials, flammable liquids or gases
-
Items that have been used, altered, damaged or returned incomplete
-
Items without valid proof of purchase
Please contact us if you are uncertain whether a product qualifies for return.
Exchanges
Once a return has been approved and processed, customers may place a new order for the preferred replacement item.
Where an item is defective, damaged or incorrectly supplied, Forntech will advise whether a repair, replacement, exchange or refund is appropriate.
Refunds
After receiving and inspecting a returned item, we will notify the customer whether the refund has been approved.
Approved refunds will be processed to the original payment method within seven business days. Banks and payment providers may require additional time before the refund appears in the customer’s account.
If an approved refund has not appeared after 15 business days, please contact contact@forntechstore.com.
Warranty Requirements for Inverters and Batteries
Inverters, batteries and related electrical equipment must be installed by a suitably qualified and registered electrical professional.

-
Proof of purchase

Clear photographs of the installation and product
-
A valid Certificate of Compliance, where applicable
-
Proof of the installer’s qualifications or registration

Failure to provide information reasonably required to assess whether the product was correctly installed may delay or affect a warranty claim.
Repairs and warranty assessments may take approximately two to three weeks, depending on the product, fault, availability of parts and manufacturer procedures.
